History

Super Bowls won

None

Yet to win one.

Key moments

  • A charter AFL club, winning the 1963 AFL title before the leagues merged.
  • Reached one Super Bowl, XXIX after the 1994 season, and lost to San Francisco.

Controversy

  • Left San Diego for Los Angeles in 2017 after a stadium referendum failed, into a market that already had a club and a stadium it does not own.
